Tim Vincent | President
Tim Vincent has been working in the field of HIV and other health-related issues for over 30 years in direct service and as an educator. He managed a CDC-funded national program to provide training, technical assistance, and resources to healthcare professionals. He continues to provide services in this area through his independent consulting business that promotes health equity, especially regarding the needs of LGBTQ+ and communities of color.
Tim is grateful to serve as board president for Brothers of the Desert and believes we can change the dynamics that perpetuate isolation and disempowerment among Black gay men here in the Coachella Valley by utilizing our strengths, creativity, and resilience along with the support of our allies. He has been asked recently to consult on a five-year study headed by the RAND Corporation titled “Social Connectedness, Loneliness, and Health Among Aging Black Sexual Minority Men.” The study aims to examine the connection between wellness, isolation, and aging for Black sexual minority men throughout the US.
